⚠️7 Security Checkup Tips ⚠️(for your personal and business social media accounts) 👉TIP #1: Check what APPS ARE CONNECTED to your social media accounts (aka 3rd Party access). Do you use Facebook or Google to sign in for any other applications? Think about if this type of access is necessary. 👉TIP #2: Keep your social media MOBILE APPS UPDATED. Security patches protect you from the newest known threats. 👉TIP #3: Create a UNIQUE EMAIL specifically for social media accounts. That way if you are compromised, the hackers won’t have access to any valuable information inside your main email account. 👉TIP #4: Set-up TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION (aka 2-step verification) on any and all social platforms. 👉TIP #5: You can ENABLE NOTIFICATIONS for new login attempts so you are made aware if and when someone is trying to access your account 👉TIP #6: DO NOT use the same passwords for all of your social media accounts. Create STRONG PASSWORDS that contain a combination of upper and lower case letters as well as numbers and symbols. I recommend using a Password Manager, such as 1Password to keep track of your passwords. 👉TIP #7: SELECT FRIENDS to contact if you get locked out of your social account. This will speed up the process of getting your account restored. 📢Each social platform has their own version of Security Settings, take the time to double check your security settings for each platform. 📢 🔐IF YOU HAVE BEEN HACKED!🔐 1. Report the Account to the social profile. 2. Change passwords to all accounts that have been compromised and all other social accounts (including email) as soon as possible. 3. Create a strong password that is at least 12 characters long.
